The Summer Series is made up of 4 sprint distance triathlons. It is always a well supported series and this year was no exception, attracting triathletes from all over the country including a few elites and an international Pro, Johannes Moldan, from Germany.
I was the defending champion from 2015 so I went into the series with great expectations.
It certainly wasn’t easy for me with some strong opposition and racing 4 sprint tri’s within 10 days does take its toll. I secured a 2nd place in race 1 and 2 and a 4th in race 3 and finally winning the 4th and final race held at Port St Francis.
It was really nice having the Cape Town MTD boys Dylan Pivo and Riaan Shaw racing a couple of the Tri’s and Coach Richard Lawrie mixing it up in the final race.
I was happy to retain my title of the Overall Series Winner for 2016.
